Job summary

Cadence McShane Construction Company seeks a Project Engineer to help deliver multi-family, industrial, and commercial projects. You will gain hands-on experience in project controls, project financials, and leading project meetings to advance your career.

The role is full-time, in-person, split between the local office and a jobsite in Texas, with a focus on strong safety practices and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in construction management or related field.
• Construction internship experience preferred.
• Full-time, in-person role split between office and jobsite in Texas.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of project controls documents, RFIs, submittals, material procurement, and meeting minutes.
• Oversee review and approval of project control documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Create and maintain project controls logs and schedules with updates.
• Support schedule management to keep projects on track and aligned with milestones.
• Assist QA/QC with inspection tracking and compliance logs to maintain quality standards.
• Contribute to safety program by participating in weekly jobsite safety meetings and audits.

Education

Project Controls

• Take ownership of managing all project-related documents, from RFI’s and submittals to material procurement and meeting minutes.
• Ensure seamless project execution by overseeing the review and approval process of all project control documents.
• Create and maintain project controls logs.

Schedule Management

• Play an essential role in keeping our projects on track by assisting with project schedules and updates.

Quality Management

• Advocate for project excellence by learning and understanding QA standards outlined in the company’s Quality Assurance Program.
• Assist in managing inspection tracking logs and QA/QC compliance logs to maintain the highest standards of quality throughout the project.

Safety

• Champion a culture of safety by getting to know our Safety Program inside and out.
• Contribute to the preparation of specific project safety plans and actively participate in weekly jobsite safety orientation meetings.
• Become proficient in performing weekly job site safety audits.

Requirements
