Job summary

American Client in New England is seeking a Project Electrical Design Engineer to design power distribution, lighting and controls, fire alarm and life safety, emergency/backup power, and low-voltage systems for renovation and new-construction projects. This 100% remote role is open nationwide, with a preference for candidates in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.

You will work directly with the Founder and Principal Engineer, owning projects end-to-end and coordinating with architects, contractors,

Qualifications

5–7+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in building/AEC design.
Familiarity with the NEC, energy codes, and life-safety requirements.
Experience with load calculations, service sizing, panel schedules, and code-compliance reviews.
Ability to produce clear construction documents and respond to RFIs and submittals.

Responsibilities

Design power distribution, lighting and controls, fire alarm and life-safety, emergency/backup power, and low-voltage systems.
Work directly with the Founder and Principal Engineer on projects across New England.
Coordinate remotely with architects, contractors, utilities, and AHJs.
Take a basic design through to detailed engineering with minimal oversight.
