Job Summary

Turner & Townsend Heery is seeking a Project Controls Director to build, organize, grow, and manage a Project Controls Group supporting Project and Program Management across the US.

The ideal candidate is a motivated professional with a solid understanding of Project Controls, including scheduling, cost management, project management information systems, and construction delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide project controls support, leadership, and guidance to Project and Program Management Teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive innovation and consistency using industry-leading tools, methodologies, and systems.
• Integrate with client tools & systems for benchmarking, analysis, and process control.
• Develop document control standards and processes.
• Create and maintain dashboards for tracking changes, trends, and project performance.
• Foster positive relationships with site-based project controls staff and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with clients to improve processes, guidelines, and templates.
• Assist in developing initial project budgets.
• Guide project teams in project controls and QA/QC processes.
• Prepare monthly project controls and progress reports.
• Develop project schedules, including stakeholder meetings and review timelines.
• Maintain standards, processes, and deliverables for project reporting.
• Create training plans for process rollouts (web-based, video, in person, etc.).
• Perform benchmarking and data collection at key project stages.
• Respond to ad hoc data and tool requests.
• Adhere to SOX controls where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in project controls, project management, or cost management within the construction industry.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organization, multitasking, report writing, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and cloud-based construction management software (e-builder, Kahua).
• Knowledge of P6 scheduling and industry-standard applications for project management.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to develop good working relationships.
• Full passport with no restrictions.
• Leadership ability to manage teams.

Education & Experience

• Experience in a cost-focused construction Project Controls role.
• Experience with large-scale, complex, vertical construction projects.
• Degree in engineering, architecture, cost management, quantity surveying, or construction.
• Detailed knowledge of construction standards and methods.
