Position Summary

The Project Director manages all company contact with clients, builds relationships, and is responsible for winning new work. This senior role involves selling and delivering services, managing client relationships, developing employees, and overseeing profit and loss for assigned accounts.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate staff assignments with project and operations managers
  • Lead pursuit plans and develop client relationships
  • Represent Manhattan in industry and community activities
  • Oversee project execution plans and safety programs
  • Review financial reports and manage project risks
  • Participate in preconstruction and construction efforts
  • Lead recruitment, training, and mentoring of project management staff
Sales Role and Responsibilities

The Project Director reports to the Vice President, manages client accounts, and is a strategic thinker and proactive problem solver. Responsibilities include establishing sales goals, conducting market research, developing business plans, leading pursuit teams, and managing RFQ/RFP processes.

Client Focus

Manage key accounts generating significant revenue, focusing on client retention and new business development.

Financial & Project Planning
  • Prepare risk and opportunity analyses
  • Oversee financial reporting and forecasting
  • Lead project planning, risk management, and contract negotiations
Human Resources
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent
  • Implement training programs and succession planning
Skills & Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 18+ years management or construction experience
  • Proven success managing client accounts and leading sales efforts
Working Conditions
  • Adaptability to weather and physical site conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and travel as needed
