Job description

Our client is a rapidly growing developer, owner, and operator of large-scale digital infrastructure supporting AI, high-performance computing, and other compute-intensive applications.

With a significant development pipeline underway, the company is continuing to build out its project delivery organization to support the execution of large, complex infrastructure projects in Texas. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced project delivery leader to take meaningful ownership of major projects from late-stage development through construction, commissioning, and operational handover.

The Project Director will play a key role in shaping execution strategy, commercial performance, schedule, cost, risk, contractor performance, and operational readiness, with the opportunity to have a direct impact on both project outcomes and the continued growth of the organization.

This role is particularly well suited to a commercially minded project leader who enjoys operating with a high degree of ownership in a fast-moving environment. You will work across engineering, construction, development, operations, contractors, utilities, and executive stakeholders while helping establish the processes and teams needed to deliver an expanding portfolio of major capital projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of major capital projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover
  • Establish project execution strategy, including delivery model, contracting approach, sequencing, and risk management
  • Lead coordination between engineering, construction, procurement, commissioning, and other project stakeholders
  • Drive performance across EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and key suppliers
  • Establish and maintain rigorous project controls, reporting, and governance processes
  • Maintain accountability for schedule, cost, quality, risk, and overall project performance
  • Lead capital planning, forecasting, and cost management
  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution, accelerate schedules, and optimize project economics
  • Build and lead high-performing project teams as the organization's development pipeline scales
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for utilities, contractors, authorities, partners, and executive leadership
  • Support the transition from development into construction and ultimately operational readiness

Key Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience delivering data center, mission-critical, industrial, energy, or similarly complex projects
  • Demonstrated success leading major construction or infrastructure programs from pre-construction through completion
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, contracts, forecasting, and risk management
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, development, and operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills

Preferred:

  • Engineering, construction management, or project management background, with direct experience with data centers or high-voltage projects
  • PMP or equivalent certification

Compensation will be competitive, with relocation assistance provided if needed.
