Job summary

MoDOT is seeking a project reviewer to create bidding documents and review plans, specifications, and estimates ensuring quality and compliance. The role offers opportunities for varying experience levels, with established salary benchmarks for intermediate and senior levels.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and is prepared to travel as needed. Internal candidates will be evaluated for final salary outcomes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans, specifications, and estimates for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with current design criteria and constructability.
• Communicates with the district on errors, omissions, and recommendations for plans and bid provisions submitted by the district.
• Assists the bid opening process by reviewing contract or bids and reviewing final contracts for completeness and accuracy.
• Creates requests for bids and assembles plans and bidding documents; prepares addenda to the bidding documents.
• Attends and participates in pre-bid conferences with contractors, district personnel, and consultants as a resource for bidding and contract services.

The entry salary is posted above, with the Intermediate starting salary of $72,691.68, and a senior starting salary of $78,506.88.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.

Special Working Conditions

• Job requires occasional, statewide and out-of-state, overnight travel.
• A postsecondary degree is the best measure to ensure candidates possess required knowledge in applied physics and mathematics, drafting, engineering processes and procedures, project management, industry ethical standards, and analyzing and modeling data.
