Job summary

Ameresco is seeking a Project Development Engineer in Portland, OR to join our West Engineering team. You will partner on energy efficiency projects in commercial buildings, helping to identify opportunities and develop cost-effective system improvements.

You will coordinate site assessments, value energy savings, and support design, bid, and execution efforts across the project lifecycle. A strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering and building automation is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, sustainable engineering, electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in energy efficiency and/or building automation project development and implementation.
• Experience with chiller/boiler plants, motors, VSDs, HVAC retrofit, controls, and distributed generation is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and quantify energy savings and present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site visits to assess mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and record energy data.
• Identify conservation opportunities and assist with energy savings calculations and assessments.
• Support engineers with design, development, and construction activities for energy efficiency projects.
• Prepare design concepts, bid documents, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for building systems.
