Join Siemens as a Project Developer – Shape the Future of Renewable Energy

Project Developer - Remote/CA,AZ,NM,IL,MN,MI,CO,FL,NY,NJ,PA,MA,TX,NV

At Siemens, we are more than an engineering company — we are innovators driving the energy transition toward a more sustainable, resilient future. We’re seeking a passionate Project Developer with a strong electrical engineering background to lead the definition and delivery of next-generation projects in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Photovoltaics (PV), Microgrids, and cutting-edge smart grid technologies.

Your Impact

As a Project Developer at Siemens, you’ll play a critical role across the full project lifecycle — from early ideation and customer engagement to final commissioning. You’ll be at the forefront of innovation, helping us secure new opportunities and bring transformational renewable energy solutions to life.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Lead the definition, documentation, and management of technical and functional requirements for large-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Engage directly with clients during the pre-sales phase, analyzing customer needs and shaping winning technical solutions and proposals.
  • Translate requirements into actionable system designs and specifications for BESS, PV, Microgrids, and hybrid energy systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses — factoring in regulatory policies, tariffs, and Investment Tax Credits (ITC) to ensure the highest project value.
  • Prepare estimates and coordinate with outside vendors, contractors, and consultants to align design, cost, and implementation strategies.
  • Champion requirement traceability throughout project execution, ensuring technical excellence and successful delivery.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and performance verification phases, guaranteeing systems meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Be a key technical advisor to the sales and proposal teams, demonstrating Siemens’ leadership in the renewable energy sector.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to continually sharpen our competitive edge.
  • Foster collaboration between cross-functional teams — engineering, procurement, construction — to drive seamless, successful outcomes.
  • Uphold the highest standards for safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility across all project stages.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Strong experience with renewable energy project development (BESS, PV, Microgrids).
  • Deep understanding of power systems, energy storage technologies, and grid integration.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy financial drivers such as tariffs and ITC.
  • Skilled with simulation and design tools (HelioScope, PVSyst, ETAP, MATLAB).
  • Excellent communication skills — able to bridge technical details and business strategy across diverse audiences.
  • Passion for sustainability, innovation, and real-world impact.
  • PMP, PE licensure, or Siemens tools/software experience are strong pluses.

Why You’ll Love Working at Siemens

  • Make a Difference: Work on groundbreaking projects that shape the future of global energy infrastructure.
