What will you do as a Project Developer?

This role involves developing medium and large-scale growth projects following the Vopak Project Management (VPM) standard. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, managing project development from inception to implementation, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

What do we expect from you?

• Possess or be able to obtain a TWIC card as per the Maritime Transportation Security Act
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field
• Master’s in Business Administration is a plus
• 7+ years’ experience in the terminal industry or related sectors (petroleum, gas, chemicals, renewables)
• Experience in project engineering, management, or support roles
• Experience with customer engagement and project development/investment in infrastructure or oil & gas projects
• Ability to manage multi-disciplinary engineering projects and understand system design standards

What does your day look like?

Your core responsibilities include:

• Developing project scope, business case, and internal requests
• Market assessment, site selection, and economic analysis
• Preparing investment proposals and obtaining stakeholder approval
• Developing customer agreements and managing relationships
• Supporting detailed engineering design and ensuring regulatory compliance
• Managing scope changes, documentation, and contracts
• Conducting risk analysis and developing strategic locations
• Coordinating project teams and external consultants
• Working with finance for feasibility studies
• Communicating effectively with stakeholders

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role involves office work and exposure to outside elements, including extreme heat, cold, chemicals, confined spaces, and elevated environments. PPE is required, and physical activities may include walking, climbing, lifting, and traveling.
