Job summary

The Freeman Company is seeking a Project Designer - LED to plan, coordinate, and design LED elements for produced events. You will educate staff and interface with cross-divisional teams, supporting our AV Production group. The role is hybrid, typically 2–3 days in-office and on-site, and based in Orlando, Dallas, or Las Vegas.

Ideal candidates have extensive live event production experience, including production management, and can lead LED projects across multiple elements and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Equivalent or professional work experience is required.
• Minimum 10 years experience working in live event production with a minimum of 5 years focused on overall production management.

Responsibilities

• Works with clients, sales, operations, and PMs to develop event designs and coordinate pre-production, onsite, and post-production within budget.
• Creates diagrams for shows and ensures on-site personnel understand them.
• Assists in scheduling and/or recommending personnel to optimize resources.
• Communicates load-in, load-out, install, and dismantle planning information to the show site team.
• Coordinates and/or assists both technical and labor crews.
• Responsible for correct specification setup and optimization of LED requirements.
• Directs workflow of the event planning process and oversees LED planning with multiple elements.
• Coordinates logistics for all technical LED events and reviews budget impacts with Client Solutions Manager.
• Analyzes current programs and makes recommendations for gear, electrical, rigging, and safety.

Summary

The Project Designer - LED is responsible for the planning, coordination, and technical design of LED requirements for produced events. This position is responsible for educating technical staff, sales staff, show-site staff, and divisional leaders on implementation related issues. This position will interface broadly with cross divisional teams. This position will support our AV Production team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of any of the following locations:

• Dallas, TX
• Las Vegas, NV
• Orlando, FL

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Works closely with clients, sales staff, operations, and project managers to develop event designs and to coordinate pre-production, onsite, and post-production activities in line with event budget
• Creates diagrams and for shows based on budgeted designs; ensure on-site personnel have and understand this information
• Assists in the scheduling and/or recommending of personnel to optimize resources
• Communicates load-in, load-out, install, and dismantle planning information to show site team
• Coordinates and/or assists both technical and labor crews
• Responsible for ensuring the correct specification setup and optimization of event requirements
• Directs workflow of event planning process
• Oversees planning of LED requirements involving multiple elements, mediums, and materials
• Coordinates logistics for all technical LED events need
• Coordinates and supervises planning process and reviews any budget impacts with Client Solutions Manager
• Analyze current programs and make recommendation for improvement on gear, electrical, rigging, and safety

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Equivalent or professional work experience is required
• Minimum 10 years experience working in live event production with a minimum of 5 years focused on overall production management
