Job summary

Convergint Technologies, LLC seeks a Project Designer to design, engineer and document medium to large sized solutions with moderate to high complexity. You will be part of a dynamic team that supports growth and client success, while upholding Convergint's values and service standards.

You will mentor drafters, collaborate with project teams, and ensure engineering drawings accurately reflect scope, budgets and schedules, enabling effective pre-sales and project execution.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical skills and knowledge/expertise in AutoDesk Design Review and Bluebeam.
• Strong ability to read construction drawings and understand architectural/electrical layouts.
• Familiarity with electrical/electronic theory and components.
• Proven ability to collaborate with project teams and guide drafters.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer and document medium to large sized solutions with moderate to high complexity.
• Support pre-sales activities to identify scope and estimate cost effective solutions.
• Coordinate with Project Management to reflect project scope in engineering deliverables and guide drafters.
• Monitor resource efforts to stay within budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with Sales and Project Management on scope changes and client clarifications.

In this role, you will design, engineer and document medium, and large sized solutions with moderate to higher levels of complexity according to project requirements. • Your design expertise may be required in support of pre-sales activities to identify, scope, and estimate cost effective solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Work with Project Management to ensure engineering deliverables accurately reflect project scope; you will guide and mentor drafters on your project team to ensure the accuracy of our engineering drawings.
• Monitor resource efforts are within the project budget and schedule.
• Work closely with Sales and Project Management to identify changes in scope that warrant customer clarification and scope management in support of the budget.

What You'll Need

• Advanced technical skills and knowledge/expertise in AutoDesk Design Review and Bluebeam.
• Strong skills in reading and understanding construction drawings, architectural and electrical layouts and diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic theory and components.
• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience:

• 5-7 years AutoCAD
• NICET certification II or III, Revit, or EST
