As a Project Designer 2, you will play a key role in developing accurate technical designs and documentation for projects involving integrated building systems and security-related technologies. You will collaborate with project managers, sales teams, engineers, and customers to transform conceptual designs and technical requirements into detailed project drawings. Working across projects of varying complexity, you will ensure that design deliverables meet customer expectations, industry standards, and established documentation requirements. You will contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design development and submittal preparation to revisions and final as-built documentation. In this role, you will coordinate design progress, communicate changes, and help maintain project schedules, quality standards, and cost controls. You will also work alongside experienced designers and project teams in a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning, initiative, and technical excellence. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong AutoCAD skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a passion for delivering reliable technical solutions.

  • Design Reviews and Project Handoffs: Participate in internal design reviews and project turnover meetings, ensuring that project teams receive the necessary drawings, documentation, programming graphics, and related materials.

  • Design Coordination and Communication: Keep project managers informed of design progress, planned completion dates, scope revisions, associated costs, and anticipated overtime requirements.

  • Submittal Preparation: Prepare complete and accurate submittal packages based on project specifications and internal standards, revising documentation as necessary to secure customer approval.

  • Change Management: Perform change-order work only after receiving formal authorization and communicate design modifications that may affect project scope, cost, or timelines.

  • Project Documentation Management: Organize, maintain, and update project statuses, drawings, records, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with senior project designers to verify drawing accuracy, ensure adherence to established standards, and confirm alignment with customer expectations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve design quality, documentation processes, coordination, and overall project efficiency while supporting additional duties as required.
