Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Project Designer to join our collaborative team. You will provide design and drawing production for varying project complexities, coordinating with sales, operations, and clients to ensure accurate, on-time design deliverables and submittals.

The role requires AutoCAD and Bluebeam proficiency, strong communication, and a customer-focused mindset. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a culture that emphasizes growth and inclusion.

Qualifications

• College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.
• Minimum Experience: 3–5 years engineering, field service or design project management.
• AutoCAD experience is required (3+ years).
• Proficient in Bluebeam and MS Office suite.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Provide design and drawing production services for projects during development and as-built stages.
• Collaborate with sales, operations and customers to obtain electronic plans.
• Prepare submittal packages and revisions to gain approvals according to standards.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and maintain design documentation and schedules.

Works on projects of varying levels of complexity. Works with sales, operations, and customer teams to obtain electronic plans from engineers/architects/owners.Works from spots and dots, conceptual and/or schematic designs. Utilizes and maintains Convergint project design, documentation, and submittal standards. Ensures adherence to industry standards and codes as required.Reviews and ensures understanding of scope of services to be provided to lead / manage the design efforts for assigned projectsParticipates in internal design review meetings as coordinated by the Project Managers. Participates in project turnover meetings with both sales and project team. Provides project team with all documentation, programming graphics, etc. according to Convergint standards and project requirements.Obtains project design information as required from the PM.Communicates all design progress, committed completion dates, design scope revisions, and associated costs to the Project Managers. Discusses all anticipated overtime requirements with the Project Managers.Performs change-order work only with formal authorization to proceed.Organizes/Maintains Status’s and Documentation of Projects.Work with more experienced project designers making sure the design is accurate, as per standards and aligned with the customer requirementsPrepares submittal packages according to project requirements or Convergint standards.
