The Project Designer is responsible for developing detailed engineering models and drawings for modular safety sensitive power generation packages. As a member of an Engineering Project Team in a fast-paced, time-sensitive manufacturing environment, the ideal candidate will work as a Project Designer executing all aspects of project design.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Work directly with project engineers, purchasing, fabrication shop, and outside fabricators to resolve issues and keep projects moving forward.
- Create complex modular power generation models.
- Generate piping isometric drawings using Isogen, with a good understanding of ANSI B31.3 standards for piping components.
- Produce detailed design drawings of structural skids, auxiliary drawings, and bill of materials for engineering and production.
- Collaborate closely with production teams in fabrication to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality units in a safety-sensitive environment.
- Address issues with internal customers as needed.
- Innovate by initiating new ideas, methods, or designs to make projects more cost-effective, easier to build, and better meet customer needs.
- Implement and ensure understanding of design guidelines within projects.
- Gather feedback from internal and external customers and incorporate improvements into designs.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience designing skid-mounted Gas Compression or Power Generation packages.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant, and CADWorx Structure.
- Strong skills in 3-D CAD design with the ability to visualize in three dimensions.
- Thorough knowledge of drafting standards, detailing, and dimensioning of various drawings, P&ID's, and AutoCAD software.
- Experience designing skid-mounted packages and structural components.
- Strong creative ability in mechanical equipment design and development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- Effective coordination with team members to achieve objectives.
- Capability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general PC skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and contribute to process improvements.
Physical Requirements
Overtime may be required. The work environment is a fast-paced office setting with high time sensitivity for many tasks.
