Blair, Church & Flynn in Clovis, CA is seeking an in-person Designer to transform sketches, concepts, and technical data into complete drawings and construction documents. You will contribute across project stages, collaborating with engineers, architects, and landscapers.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or CAD certification and strong software skills including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and SketchUp, with a focus on accuracy and compliance with codes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or CAD certification preferred.
• Experience interpreting construction documents and specifications.
• Ability to prepare construction documents with drafting standards.

Job description

CORE MISSION

Designersare responsible fortransformingsketches,conceptual designs,mark‑upsandother pieces oftechnical informationintocompletedrawings,detailsand construction documentsfor a wide variety of projects involving engineering, architecture, landscapearchitectureand land surveying elements.Designers use their training, education, and experience to contribute to all stages of project delivery.

REQUIREMENTS

• An associate degree or certification inindustrial design,landscape design, engineering or architecturalfundamentals, or computer-aided design (CAD) is preferred.

SKILLS & UNDERSTANDING

• Proficiencywithdesignsoftware such as AutoCAD,Civil 3d, GIS,SolidWorks, Revit, SketchUpor Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and specifications.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive construction documents.
• Knowledge of drafting standards, building codes, and industry regulations.
• Capability to perform technical reviews, follow quality assuranceplansand execute quality control processes.
• Abilitytoproblem-solve,communicateand collaborate with peers and project stakeholders.

EXPECTATIONS FOR THE "PROJECT" TITLE

• Are established practitioners with consistent, competent and developing abilities across categories of project planning, technical aptitude and teamwork.
• Has at least 5 years of relevant experience.

LOCATION

• This position is in person at the Clovis office location and requires local travel for meetings and site visits.
