Job summary

PDM is seeking a cost estimator/sales professional to drive project opportunities from initial contact through production. You will develop cost estimates, prepare proposals, and collaborate with clients, designers and vendors to deliver accurate, competitive bids.

The role requires strong MS Office skills, organization, and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in business, operations, engineering or equivalent experience is preferred, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, operations, engineering or equivalent experience preferred
• Manufacturing and/or construction process experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to manage data and documents

Responsibilities

• Lead project sales and assist on other sales leads as necessary
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from contract documents
• Develop cost estimates as needed for external pricing/proposals
• Prepare proposals for new projects
• Update cost estimates as needed for external and internal needs
• Communicate with clients as needed to support and modify proposals
• Gather documents information from clients, designers, and vendors to ensure an appropriate estimate/proposal
• Assist with estimating program maintenance including component price updating
• Lead kickoff meetings with engineering/detailing teams, project management, outside vendors and production teams
• Direct project management of projects internally and externally
• Assist other project managers as necessary, typically on larger projects
• Manage project financial budgets with understanding of scope and costs
• Develop and communicate complete project schedules internally and externally
