Job summary

Ledgent-Finance- is seeking a Project Cost Accountant in Phoenix, AZ to support project and finance teams with cost tracking, recording, and reporting for assigned projects. You will assist with billing, vendor invoices, and cost reporting for leadership decisions.

Required: bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and 3+ years in cost/project accounting; ERP and Excel proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and organized project financial records and supporting documentation.
• Review, verify, and record labor, material, subcontractor, and other project-related costs.
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure proper coding and allocation to projects.
• Match invoices to supporting documentation, purchase orders, contracts, or receiving records.
• Enter approved invoices and cost transactions into the accounting system.
• Monitor project costs to ensure expenses are charged accurately and consistently.
• Assist with customer invoicing, progress billing, and supporting documentation requirements.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of project budgets, schedules of values, and cost reports.
• Track billing status and assist with collections activities as needed.
• Obtain and maintain required project compliance documentation, waivers, releases, or other contractual records.
• Generate project financial reports and provide requested analysis to project managers and finance leadership.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
