The City Bar Justice Center (CBJC) seeks an enthusiastic and organized individual committed to equal access to justice to join our team as a Project Coordinator, a role similar to a legal assistant or paralegal. CBJC annually provides high-quality, free civil legal services benefiting over 27,000 New Yorkers who lack resources to hire private counsel. CBJC collaborates with the New York City Bar Association, law firms, corporate legal departments, law schools, courts, and other stakeholders. Last year, over 2,200 pro bono attorneys donated services to support clinics and client work across CBJC’s legal projects.
Start date: Late May or mid-June, with a minimum two-year commitment. In-person work in Manhattan on a hybrid schedule (2-3 days/week). Occasional local travel may be required.
This position is covered by Local 153, Office and Professional Employees International Union, with a starting salary of at least $51,250 for a 35-hour week, plus benefits including paid time off, health plans, 401K, and more.
