Project Coordinator

The City Bar Justice Center (CBJC) seeks an enthusiastic and organized individual committed to equal access to justice to join our team as a Project Coordinator, a role similar to a legal assistant or paralegal. CBJC provides high-quality, free civil legal services benefiting over 27,000 New Yorkers annually who lack resources to hire private counsel. We collaborate with the New York City Bar Association, law firms, corporate legal departments, solo practitioners, law schools, courts, and other stakeholders. Last year, over 2,200 pro bono attorneys donated services to support clinics and client work across CBJC’s dozen civil legal projects.
CBJC Project Coordinators work closely with attorney Project Directors to manage responsibilities for specific practice areas, including:
Ideal candidates can start in late May or mid-June and commit for at least two years. The role requires in-person work in Manhattan on a hybrid schedule (2-3 days in-office weekly) with occasional local travel for clinics or support events.
This position is represented by the Local 153, Office and Professional Employees International Union, with a starting salary of at least $51,250 for a 35-hour week, plus benefits including paid time off, health plans, 401K, and more. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
