Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation's Bridge Division seeks a Project Coordinator IV to manage the Preliminary Bridge Layout Review (PBLR) process and assist project managers with funding reviews, bridge agreements, and program tracking.

Based in the Stassney Campus HQ in South Austin, this full-time role emphasizes organization, cross-functional coordination, and communication with consultants, districts, and stakeholders to deliver bridge projects safely and on schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
• 9 years experience in design, plan preparation, construction inspection, surveying. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning and coordinating office operations.
• Provides training for area of responsibility.
• Coordinates design work among TxDOT entities, consultants and contractors.
• Perform data collection, evaluations, and analyses.
• Serves as program coordinator responsible for coordination of advanced engineering/architectural projects from initiation to completion.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

TxDOT's Bridge Division is looking for a Project Coordinator to manage the Preliminary Bridge Layout Review (PBLR) process and assist the bridge division project managers with funding reviews, bridge agreements, and Highway Bridge Program project tracking.

Reports to a licensed professional engineer who has final approval authority for projects. Leads the work of technical employees and provides training.] Work requires extensive communication with subject matter experts from multiple divisions and all 25 districts. Employees are virtually self-supervising and assume accountability for their work.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Extensive Knowledge of

• Design and plan preparation methods and requirements.
• Program/project planning, development, and management methodologies.
• Planning, assigning, directing, coordinating and reviewing the work of professional, administrative and technical employees.
• Analyzing, organizing, and communicating business and technical data.
• Performing advanced drafting.
• Reading and interpreting applicable plans, schematics, blueprints and maps

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
