Job summary

SGS is seeking an experienced project professional to plan and execute LIMS, quality, and client service projects across multiple laboratories. You will monitor progress, manage budgets, and coordinate vendor and sub-contractor activities to deliver high-quality results on schedule.

The role requires a 4-year science degree, 2+ years’ lab experience, and strong communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with LIMS, Client Portal systems, and MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or closely related field.
• 2+ years of laboratory experience.
• Strong problem prevention and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across disciplines.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; familiar with LIMS and client portals.
• Capable of coordinating multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, oversee, and participate in execution of LIMS and QA projects within budget.
• Monitor progress, deliver status reports, timelines, risks, and actions.
• Develop and maintain lab implementation plans for LIMS.
• Lead operational projects, including new lab builds, to meet deliverables.
• Coordinate software platform implementation across labs and communicate enhancements.
• Review incoming work technically and manage vendors and sub-contractors.
• Lead large client RFPs to deliver complete, quality products on deadlines.

Job Description

• Responsible for planning, overseeing and participating in the execution of LIMS, operations, quality and client service projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
• Monitor project progress and deliver status reports, timelines, issues, risks and action items to stakeholders and team members
• Develop, maintain, and participate in project plan for lab implementation of LIMS system and projects enhancing functionality of LIMS system
• Proactively lead operational projects (including new laboratory builds) to ensure project deliverables are met
• Understands all applicable aspects of the project, including rationale for the project, regulations that affect the project, different methods employed by the client and laboratory to produce result
• Coordinate implementation of quality software platform across all food laboratories and manage and communicate enhancements to the software package
• Perform technical review of incoming work
• Manage vendors for sub-contacted work and research options for additional vendors
• Manage and participate in all aspects of large, client requests for proposal (RFP) to deliver a complete and quality product by client deadlines

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or closely related field
• 2+ years of laboratory experience
• Effective problem prevention and problem-solving skills
• Written and verbal communication skills necessary to cross multiple disciplines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Proficiency with LIMS and Client Portal systems
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
