Job summary

Job Purpose

This individual provides support to the Coding Audit Team by project management of specific audit tasks and supporting auditing colleagues.

Job Accountabilities
Client project management
  • Oversee and maintain each coding audit project, including establishing project timelines, ensuring client understanding of the audit process, setting up the appropriate tools required for the audit and communicating their use to the assigned auditors, monitoring the team’s trajectory toward achieving all deadlines, and routinely communicating audit project progress to Director and/or Manager, Audits as well as the client
  • Address client questions and audit project issues, as they arise
  • Offer recommendations to the Director and/or Manager on auditing colleagues scheduled to projects
  • Guide auditing colleagues to successfully establishing remote access
  • Support auditing colleagues during audits
  • Notify the Director and/or Manager of any situations requiring attention
  • Create audit summary reports and perform quality review of all preliminary and final audit report recommendations, giving feedback to auditing colleagues when applicable
  • Ensure consistency with prior audits and among multiple auditors, when applicable
  • Perform the client exit conference(s) and/or client coding education session(s)
  • Perform the final report review with client in a manner that ensures client understanding of audit findings and recommendations
  • Perform audits and/or education, as needed
  • Other client support efforts, as needed
Colleague Support
  • Mentor and train new auditors
  • Perform Peer to Peer reviews annually and give feedback and education to auditors as needed
  • Train and support colleagues on auditing tools including audit software
  • Support Manager in correct time, attendance, and production entry
Support Growth Of Coding Audit Services
  • Identify areas of potential opportunity to increase sales of the service line
  • Provide input to audit software enhancements including reporting and data analytics features
Qualifications
Required
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and PPS reimbursement systems to include MS-DRG, APR-DRG, APC, and RBRVS
  • Project management experience – a minimum of one year of managing contract deliverables in a healthcare setting
  • Proficient computer knowledge including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Must display excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills with all levels of internal and external customers
  • Self-motivated for high quality project results

Preferred
  • Experience with all patient modalities, with strong Professional Fee skills
  • Experience with various encoder/grouper software products preferred

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    Physical Demands
    • Duties may require bending, twisting, and lifting of materials up to 25 lbs.
    • Duties will require standing, walking, sitting, crawling, reaching, speaking, and hearing.
    • Work environment is at a moderate noise level.
    • Duties require travel via airplane, train and/or automobile.

    Note: Savista is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $75,000 to $90,000. However, specific compensation for the role will vary within the above range based on many factors including but not limited to geographic location, candidate experience, applicable certifications, and skills.
