Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain each coding audit project, including timelines and client understanding.
  • Communicate audit progress to Director/Manager and client.
  • Guide auditing colleagues in auditing tools and remote access.
  • Create audit summary reports and perform quality review of recommendations.
  • Perform client exit conferences and education sessions on audits.
  • Mentor and train new auditors; perform peer reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales of the service line.

We partner with healthcare organizations to problem solve and deliver revenue cycle improvement services that enable their success, support their patients, and nurture their communities, all while living our values of Commitment, Authenticity, Respect and Excellence (CARE).JOB PURPOSE:This individual provides support to the Coding Audit Team by project management of specific audit tasks and supporting auditing colleagues.JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:Client project management:Oversee and maintain each coding audit project, including establishing project timelines, ensuring client understanding of the audit process, setting up the appropriate tools required for the audit and communicating their use to the assigned auditors, monitoring the team’s trajectory toward achieving all deadlines, and routinely communicating audit project progress to Director and/or Manager, Audits as well as the clientAddress client questions and audit project issues, as they ariseOffer recommendations to the Director and/or Manager on auditing colleagues scheduled to projectsGuide auditing colleagues to successfully establishing remote accessSupport auditing colleagues during auditsNotify the Director and/or Manager of any situations requiring attentionCreate audit summary reports and perform quality review of all preliminary and final audit report recommendations, giving feedback to auditing colleagues when applicableEnsure consistency with prior audits and among multiple auditors, when applicablePerform the client exit conference(s) and/or client coding education session(s)Perform the final report review with client in a manner that ensures client understanding of audit findings and recommendationsPerform audits and/or education, as neededOther client support efforts, as neededColleague Support:Mentor and train new auditorsPerform Peer to Peer reviews annually and give feedback and education to auditors as neededTrain and support colleagues on auditing tools including audit softwareSupport Manager in correct time, attendance, and production entrySupport growth of Coding Audit Services:Identify areas of potential opportunity to increase sales of the service lineProvide input to audit software enhancements including reporting and data analytics featuresQUALIFICATIONS:Required:Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and PPS reimbursement systems to include MS-DRG, APR-DRG, APC, and RBRVSProject management experience – a minimum of one year of managing contract deliverables in a healthcare settingProficient computer knowledge including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)Ability to travel up to 30%Must display excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills with all levels of internal and external customersSelf-motivated for high quality project resultsCustomer-service focused, exhibit professionalism, flexibility, dependability, desire to learn, commitment to excellence and commitment to professionAbility to consistently maintain a high degree of positive motivation with a strong commitment to company goalsStrong presentation and speaking skillsPreferred:Experience with all patient modalities, with strong Professional Fee skillsExperience with various encoder/grouper software products preferredExperience working in teaching university size facilities preferredCOMPETENCIES AND/OR AREAS OF EXPERTISE:SUPERVISED LEVEL: Supervises colleagues who do not supervise others.SKILLS:EquipmentMicro PC, monitor, adding machine, telephone, texting, paging system may be used.Language and ReasoningAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
