Job summary

CommUniverCity SJSU seeks a part-time Project Coordinator to support program management for community-engaged, course-based service-learning projects in San Jose. You will link SJSU faculty and students with neighborhood priorities and help coordinate multiple projects with strong communication.

• Reliable transportation for community site visits.
• Availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Forms).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate service-learning projects that connect SJSU faculty, students, residents, and community partners to advance neighborhood-driven goals
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously by tracking timelines, prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining consistent communication with CommUniverCity’s Community Outreach Program Coordinator
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and approachable demeanor while interacting with children, school district personnel, residents, faculty, students, and community partners
• Foster resident engagement by supporting community outreach efforts and neighborhood events
• Assist in planning and coordinating outreach initiatives, engagement activities, and community events by organizing logistics and communicating with stakeholders
• Collect, organize, and maintain project data and documentation by filing
• Assist with program evaluation and impact tracking by organizing project data, documenting outcomes, and maintaining records
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of CommUniverCity’s mission

Position Overview

The Project Coordinator supports the Program Manager in the development and implementation of community-engaged, course-based service-learning projects. This role connects SJSU faculty and students with community priorities, helps coordinate projects, evaluates program impact, and supports efforts to build community leadership and engagement.
