Job summary

The Ruhlin Company is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support cost and scheduling control, reporting, and training across projects from its Sharon Center office. You will prepare reports, monitor budgets, and help implement SOPs with emphasis on accuracy and timely communication.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 2+ years in construction, and strong skills with HCSS, Vista, and Microsoft tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Minimum 2 years construction industry experience.
• Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
• Good problem analysis and problem resolution skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Viewpoint Vista, HCSS software.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work some non-traditional hours (evenings/weekends).
• Team focused mindset to build strong working relationships.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, costing, scheduling, and estimating.
• Commitment to Company values.

Responsibilities

• Review project cost and schedule reports for errors and omissions.
• Participate in divisional job status meetings.
• Assist with information gathering for claim preparation.
• Help ensure accurate project schedules and cost tracking/reporting.
• Attend project handoff and closeout meetings.
• Review operational processes and recommend changes and enhancements.
• Ensure SOP adherence and best practices.
• Create custom reports in HCSS, Vista, and other software.
• Oversee HCSS license assignments and user profiles.
• Monitor software for enhancements and broader functionality.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the Project Controls Manager.
• Attend industry meetings and networking events.
• Represent the company on committees and construction associations.
• Review and analyze divisional project documentation.
• Help ensure startups, schedules, and costs are tracked/reported.
• Assist development of SOPs and best practices.
