Job summary

Aldridge is seeking a Project Controls Specialist in Des Plaines, IL to develop and manage GMP-based estimates for construction projects. You will align GMP with schedules, coordinate across estimating, management, field operations, and engineering, and ensure revisions are accurately captured.

The role emphasizes detailed GMP development, risk tracking, and collaboration with executives and clients to keep projects on time and on budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related industry.
  • Construction experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Align the GMP with preliminary & baseline schedule to confirm labor and equipment forecasts.
  • Coordinate estimating, project management, field operations, and engineering to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Validate revisions to ensure changes are incorporated into the GMP; maintain a GMP Risk Register.
  • Collaborate with Project Management Team and leadership to support construction, project execution, and closeout.

Project Controls Specialist

What we are looking for:

Aldridge is seeking an experienced and dedicated Project Controls Specialist to join our talented and energetic team.Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contract structure establishes a cost ceiling for all construction activities while maintaining full transparency and accountability between the Owner and Contractor. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a detailed GMP that includes all labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, general conditions, contingencies, and allowances required to complete the project.

What you’ll do:
  • Align the GMP with preliminary & baseline schedule to confirm labor and equipment forecasts.
  • Facilitate coordination between estimating, project management, field operations, and engineering to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Validate revisions to ensure changes are incorporated into the GMP.
  • Maintain a formal GMP Risk Register.

Who you are:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related industry.
  • Construction experience preferred, but not required.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • A clear and concise communicator able to work seamlessly with clients, operations, and executive teams.

What we offer:

The annual base pay for this role is between $75,000-$125,000. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, including: location, work experience, education, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market conditions. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for a bonus. Aldridge provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes the following:
