Job summary

HDR is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support its Transportation Business Group. You will establish work breakdown structures, build and maintain detailed schedules, and develop project metrics to track performance across phases of engineering and construction projects.

You will collaborate with engineers, planners, and management to forecast costs and schedules, ensuring alignment with project goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Ability to progress knowledge in oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Coordination and prioritization of multiple long and short-term tasks.
  • Organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish WBS and develop/maintain complex project schedules.
  • Coordinate with necessary team members.
  • Develop and monitor project metrics.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings.
  • Conduct project site visits if applicable.
  • Conduct schedule baseline and schedule update reviews.
  • Develop cost estimates.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Project Controls Specialist, we'll count on you to:

  • Conduct schedule baseline and schedule update reviews
  • Develop cost estimates
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls work on engineering and construction projects (or equivalent), preferably including planning, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, schedule control, and project reports
  • Certifications (one or more): PSP, PMP, PE, CM, EVP, PMI-SP, CST
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
