Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Project Controls Senior Manager to oversee a portfolio of capital projects at a North Carolina manufacturing site. You will manage costs, schedules, estimates, and risks while partnering with Engineering, Facilities, and Capital Finance teams.

You will develop and train a team of cost managers and schedulers, review bids and invoices, prepare leadership reports, and lead external vendor relationships to drive project controls effectiveness and procurement activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in capital project delivery with estimating, cost control, scheduling, and compliance.
• Associate’s degree with 10 years of engineering and capital project delivery experience, OR Bachelor’s with 6 years, OR Master’s with 4 years, OR Doctorate with 2 years.
• Experience leading project controls teams and managing external vendors.
• Experience with Earned Value Management, cost and scheduling software, BIM workflows, and procurement methods.

Responsibilities

• Manage project controls across a portfolio of capital projects, including cost, scheduling, forecasting, risk, and compliance.
• Develop project strategies, estimates, schedules, cash flow forecasts, and risk analyses.
• Review contractor bids, change orders, invoices, and project progress.

Insight Global is looking for a Project Controls Senior Manager to be accountable for managing, forecasting, and tracking costs, schedules, estimates, and risks on a portfolio of capital projects at a manufacturing site in North Carolina. The position also partners with internal cross-functional groups that support capital projects, including Engineering Technical Authority, Project Management, Facilities Management, Global Site Engineering, Capital Finance, and various internal business partners. The candidate should have the experience and ability to develop, train, and manage a team of cost managers and schedulers through partnership with outside service providers.

Basic Requirements

• Experience in capital project delivery, managing engineering or construction project controls across estimating, cost control, scheduling, and compliance
• Associate’s degree and 10 years of engineering and capital project delivery experience, OR
• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of engineering and capital project delivery experience, OR
• Master’s degree and 4 years of engineering and capital project delivery experience, OR
• Doctorate degree and 2 years of engineering and capital project delivery experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering or construction experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry.
• Experience with project controls including estimating, cost management, scheduling, compliance, and contract strategy.
• Expertise leading project controls teams and managing external vendors.
• Experience with Earned Value Management, cost and scheduling software, Power BI, and BIM workflows.
• Experience with procurement methods and contracts.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
