Job Summary

This full-time salaried position is a senior leadership role within Project Farma, responsible for driving project controls across the life-sciences project lifecycle. The senior director will oversee multiple teams, develop strategic direction, and partner cross-functionally to align people, processes, and priorities with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert analysis of complex project data and deliver clear, strategic insights that drive executive-level decision-making.
• Develop and oversee high-quality project controls deliverables, including reports, dashboards, and management summaries.
• Integrate and validate inputs from Project Coordinators, field teams, and cross-functional stakeholders while maintaining full accountability for final outputs.
• Communicate critical project information with clarity and urgency, ensuring field decisions translate into long-term schedule, cost, and resource impacts.
• Offer hands-on technical support to clients navigating the engineering lifecycle of advanced equipment and manufacturing systems.
• Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive project tools such as site-level dashboards, integrated schedules, and deliverable tracking systems.
• Conduct rigorous due diligence and quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance of all project controls deliverables.
• Identify risks, roadblocks and performance gaps; provide escalation and innovative solutions.
• Expand subject‑matter expertise across life-sciences project controls, including: Capital project management (CAPEX), Facility shutdowns and turnarounds, Technology transfers, Enterprise system integrations, Validation Life Cycle (CQV, PV, CSV), Quality, Regulatory, and Compliance frameworks, GxP automated systems, Quality Control (construction & commercial), Operational readiness and startup.
• Lead development, maintenance and governance of integrated project schedules, including baseline, progress updates and forward-looking planning.
• Establish and refine methodologies for tracking installed quantities, productivity and earned value for accurate forecasting.
• Monitor cost performance, change impacts and emerging trends, partnering with Project Managers to ensure financial alignment.
• Identify and challenge schedule and cost variances, recommend actionable mitigation or recovery strategies.
• Review, challenge and enhance weekly, monthly and ad-hoc project controls reports for clarity, accuracy and strategic value.
• Develop and maintain advanced dashboards and performance metrics aligned with corporate reporting standards.
• Conduct deep-dive analytics on schedule, cost and performance data to support proactive, data-driven decision-making.
• Design, implement and maintain project controls systems, coding structures and standardized procedures for consistency across the lifecycle.
• Safeguard accuracy, integrity and traceability of all project controls data across systems and reporting platforms.
• Guide teams on controls processes, data governance and reporting requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflows, reporting efficiency and system utilization.
• Serve as senior subject‑matter expert, providing mentorship, performance feedback and technical leadership to project controls personnel.
• Coordinate project controls activities, defining inputs, formats and timelines to ensure alignment and quality.
• Review and validate Project Coordinator inputs before integration into systems.
• Lead initiatives and project teams by setting clear goals, managing priorities and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Provide administrative leadership and oversight of the Project Controls team, including coaching, mentoring, performance management, career development and annual reviews.
• Maintain billable utilization by contributing to client projects while ensuring successful project delivery.
• Develop and execute business‑development strategies to strengthen and expand project controls service offerings.
• Represent the organization at industry events and contribute to thought‑leadership initiatives.
• Build relationships with client leadership to identify opportunities for service expansion and value creation.
• Lead or support proposal development, including scope definition, resource planning and cost forecasting.
• Support recruiting and talent development to grow the project controls team.

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree (or Master’s) in technical sciences, engineering, regulatory or related discipline, or equivalent experience in project controls, construction, cGMP facility start-up, project management and/or military experience.
• 13 – 20+ years of related experience.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera P6 and/or Smartsheet.
• Willingness to travel domestically to support client project assignments.

Preferred

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Certified Cost Professional (CCP).
• PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI‑SP).

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation range: $172,000 to $234,000. Base pay is determined by internal equity, work location and individual qualifications.
