Project Controls – Engineer III/Lead Engineer
Location(s): Customer Site – DC, MA, MD, NJ, PA, VA. This full‑time salaried position is with Project Farma, a PerkinElmer company.
Overview
Project Farma accelerates delivery of life‑changing therapies by executing high‑quality life science projects across the full project lifecycle. As an advanced individual contributor, you will lead complex workstreams, apply technical expertise, and mentor junior engineers while focusing on technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, contractors, and Project Farma team members to support biomanufacturing projects throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed integrated schedules, activity tracking, and variance reports to monitor project performance.
- Prepare and deliver summary project plans, milestone management reports, budget estimates, cost reports, forecast trend analyses, and risk, issue, and scenario analysis reports.
- Provide clear, concise analysis of complex project data, supporting decision‑making and communicating information internally and to field teams.
- Independently create project controls dashboards, management summaries, and monthly status reports using inputs from project coordinators and field teams.
- Maintain project tools such as dashboards, schedules, deliverable trackers, and perform quality checks to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
- Proactively identify and escalated roadblocks, using critical thinking to devise creative solutions.
- Align with cross‑functional client departments—including Design, Construction, Validation, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering—to integrate project controls services within the life‑science space.
- Support technical aspects of capital project management, facility shutdowns, technology transfers, system integrations, validation, and regulatory compliance (GxP, automated systems, quality control).
- Directly manage schedule and cost performance: develop cost models, track progress, forecast, perform variance and recovery planning, and recommend mitigation actions.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad‑hoc project controls reports and develop dashboards and metrics aligned with corporate requirements.
- Implement and maintain approved project controls systems, coding structures, and procedures, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports.
- Provide guidance on project controls processes, data requirements, and reporting standards, and support continuous improvement of workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) in a technical science, engineering, regulatory or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 2–7 years of experience in project controls, construction, cGMP facility start‑up, project management, or comparable military experience.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and experience with Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera P6, and/or Smartsheet.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Willingness to travel domestically for client project assignments.
- U.S. residency and authorization to work full time; no visa sponsorship.
