Job summary

  • Establish work sequences and activity durations for a discipline; identify interfaces.

  • Determine what information is required from other disciplines for schedule activity.
  • Provide schedule knowledge to assist discipline planning and interfacing.
  • Monitor schedule; identify critical activities and update related functions.
  • Help develop requirements for updating and monitoring the schedule.
  • Prepare schedule, staffing, and quantity progress reports for assigned disciplines.

Job Summary

In this role, you will coordinate development and author project reporting, including cross‑functional input, compiling information received, status input, incorporating it into deliverables, and reviewing for quality. You will assist in basic cost control, schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, and programs. Your attention to detail and support will be key to project success.

Major Responsibilities
  • Establish work sequence and activity durations for a specific discipline or specialty, determining interdisciplinary constraints or interfaces that define activity sequences.
  • Work with performing organizations and units to coordinate work sequences with the total project plan and develop installation rates for quantity takeoffs.
  • Develop quantity release or installation curves for a discipline or specialty, review quantity logs, and assist in determining leveling decisions.
  • Assist discipline groups in determining what information is required from other disciplines to support schedule activities and how to interface with the assigned discipline or specialty.
  • Provide schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in discipline planning and interfacing with others.
  • Perform schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties.
  • Assist in the development of requirements for updating and monitoring the schedule.
  • Prepare schedule, staffing, and quantity progress and performance reports for assigned disciplines or specialties.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 4‑6 years of related experience.
  • Associate degree or related technical training preferred.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Proficiency with PC operating systems and basic software applications.
  • Proficiency with multiple discipline‑specific software applications currently used in Bechtel (Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office).
  • Intermediate knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes as performed by Bechtel.
