Job summary

Group PMX is seeking a Project Controls Manager with a strong background in capital projects and program management, especially in public sector settings such as NYC. You will lead project controls activities, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and drive timely, accurate reporting across schedules, budgets, and risk management.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, a relevant BA/BS, and proficiency with major project controls tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce project controls procedures, schedules, budgets, and WBS.
  • Lead time impact analysis, delay analyses, and change/claims negotiations.
  • Coordinate with internal/external teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Prepare presentations and monthly reporting; manage risk and cost controls.

Overview:

As Project ControlsManager, you shouldpossessa strong background in core project controlsfunctions of Capital Projects and Program Management.In this role, you will need to be familiar and have experience withdesign-bid-build programs/projectsin the public sector, preferably NYC.You will provide leadership and projectcontrolsexpertise. In addition, you will work closely with the client,team members,project managers, sub-consultants,and project stakeholders to successfully lead all aspects of Project Controls. Your duties may include but notbe limitedto development, implementation, and enforcementofproject controls procedures,schedules,budgets,work breakdown structures,workflows,reports,preparation of presentations,and monthly reporting. Other responsibilities will include participating in meetings, coordinating within-house clientpersonnel to establish project controls requirements,working with the program scheduler and contractors to develop, update, and maintain schedules and budgets, preparing time impact analysis, and analyzingdelays and delay claims, when applicable.

  • Strong construction project controls skills incost,budget management,contract management,and reporting.
  • Develop andmaintainsuccessful relations with all stakeholders toefficiently and effectively meet project goals and objectives
  • Direct staff and set and be accountable for project deadlines
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with strong attention to detail
  • Provide support and leadership to the Project team for Cost, Schedule,and Risk Management
  • Experience in all aspects of the project,including scope development, change/claims negotiations, cost control, staff management,and quality control
  • Excellent skills withMicrosoft Office Suite,CMiC, Primavera,Procore,Oracle Unifier, BIM,and other database driven systems
  • Establish andmaintainwork plans to forecast project financials and compare against budgets,including earned value analysis asrequired
  • Ability to functionally coordinate with both internal and external business processes and to blend the requirements of both
  • Oversee auditing of contract documents
  • Design,updateandmaintainvarious project-specific reports asrequired
  • Contract Close-out
  • Change Order documentation, review and estimating
  • Understanding of construction and construction means and methods
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) (engineering or construction management a plus)
  • 10 plusyears experiencein project controls/program controls/construction management; experience on multiple sides of the business (i.e., consultant, owner, owner rep, contract/architect, contractor, engineer) a plus
  • Strong communications skills
  • Healthcare experience required
  • Respond effectively to the most sensitive issues
  • Writereports using distinctive style;assistin developing effective and persuasive presentations
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles, and ability to conduct financial/business analysis,including the preparation of reports
  • Sound judgment and reasoning ability, enabling problem-solving with a variety of options in varying situations
