Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Project Control Specialist to help manage cost, schedule and change on capital projects. You will prepare schedules, understand engineering and construction processes, and report in a matrix environment with minimal supervision.

The role requires advanced skills with Primavera P3, cost analysis, and experience with large design/construct projects. A BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and a WA driver's license are required, with hybrid WA-based work

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 3 years proven experience in project controls of large design/construct projects.
• Work experience and familiarity with cost/scheduling software and relevant processes are required.
• Valid WA drivers license required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project plans, schedules, cost estimates, and changes to meet quality guidelines and helps project managers to make necessary adjustments.
• Provides project controls support for PSE projects as assigned including, WBS and work order development, schedule development, reporting of project status, price and schedule project changes, cost estimates including take-offs and conceptual estimating.
• Assumes the role of project control systems expert and owner for assigned management systems, the training of staff in the use of assigned systems, development of procedures with respect to assigned systems.
• Monitors project schedules to ensure compliance with procedures and specification.
• Directs the processing of change orders and ensures that the work is performed within established agency guidelines including approvals and execution. Prepares cash flow analysis reports for capital projects and makes recommendations to the department project manager on cost and schedule alternatives.
