Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Project Controls Intern to support planning, execution, and monitoring of capital projects. You will work with project teams to gain hands-on experience, developing practical project management skills and contributing to projects that impact customers and communities.

The internship offers exposure to cost management, scheduling, reporting, and dashboard creation with increasing responsibility over a 10–12 week summer period, including hybrid on-site/remote work options.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year degree program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Building Science, Accounting, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field
• Must not graduate prior to August 2027
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

Responsibilities

• Monitor project costs and schedules
• Support project communications and reporting
• Assist with risk identification and mitigation activities
• Analyze project performance metrics
• Review schedule and cost management data for quality and accuracy
• Develop reports and dashboards to support project decision-making
