Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks a Project Controls Engineer to perform planning, scheduling, and cost engineering for national security programs. The role will be deployed into the Weapons Directorate with potential growth to lead control scope areas and mentor staff.

Locations include the Nevada National Security Sites in Mercury, NV, with onsite work and occasional travel to LANL. Candidates should have DOE-related program experience and strong EVMS skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in project controls: planning/scheduling and cost engineering.
• Experience supporting schedule development, maintenance, progress assessment, and schedule analysis.
• Knowledge of project controls principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.
• Experience with EVMS environments and performance measurement.
• Experience using Primavera P6 or similar tools.
• Knowledge of cost collection, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to obtain a DOE 'Q' clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules; integrate cost and schedule data.
• Provide objective performance measurement and actionable insights to program leadership.
• Lead or support EVMS implementation across programs as needed.
• Collaborate with program managers and control account managers to maintain control systems.
