Qualifications

EXCEL is a leading industrial construction company specializing in mid- to large-scale capital projects across the oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation industries.


Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Project Controls Coordinator to support the successful execution of industrial construction projects. In this role, you will implement and maintain effective project controls systems and processes, helping project teams manage costs, schedules, risks, and documentation. This management-level position offers continued growth opportunities along the project management career path.


Key Responsibilities


  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare routine project status reports covering cost performance, schedule adherence, and risk. Analyze trends and provide actionable insights to support informed decision-making and project optimization.

  • Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, analyze cost variances, and prepare accurate cost reports. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions as needed.

  • Schedule Management: Collaborate with project managers and schedulers to develop and maintain project schedules. Monitor progress, identify schedule risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to keep milestones on track.

  • Document Control: Establish and maintain document control procedures in accordance with regulatory and project requirements. Manage the distribution, storage, and retrieval of project documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.


Qualifications


  • At least two years of project controls experience in industrial construction.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with project management software such as Primavera P6, SAP, Procore, Aconex or similar tools is a plus.


Compensation and Benefits


  • $50–$60 per hour, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular rate after 40 hours.
