Job summary

Landmark is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to support planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of project performance. You will work with project managers to establish cost controls, monitor schedules, and identify risks to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires 3–5 years in project controls and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Strong Excel, Primavera P6, and MS Project skills are expected.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business, or a related field required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project controls, cost analysis, or project management.
  • Experience in the water tank utility or construction industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software.
  • Monitor schedule performance and provide updates on project timelines, milestones, and critical paths.
  • Collaborate with project managers to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Track project budgets, expenses, and forecasts to ensure financial performance aligns with project goals.
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs against budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports, including earned value management metrics.
  • Identify potential project risks related to schedule, cost, and resources.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and work with project teams to address identified risks.
  • Maintain a risk register and regularly update stakeholders on risk status.
  • Generate accurate and timely project performance reports, including progress summaries and trend analyses.
  • Document project scope, budget, or schedule changes and ensure compliance with change management procedures.
  • Provide periodic updates to stakeholders on project status, including executive-level presentations.
  • Utilize project control tools and software to analyze data and generate insights.
  • Maintain and update databases for project controls, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Support project managers in developing baseline schedules, budgets, and forecasts during the planning phase.
  • Act as a liaison between project teams, finance, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Assist in post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and improve future project outcomes.

The Project Controls Analyst is responsible for supporting the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of project performance to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with company goals. This role collaborates with project managers and stakeholders to establish cost controls, monitor project schedules, and identify potential risks. The Project Controls Analyst is a key contributor to effective project delivery by providing actionable insights and ensuring adherence to company standards and industry best practices.

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software.

Qualifications and KSA
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business, or a related field required.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in project controls, cost analysis, or project management.
  • Experience in the water tank utility or construction industry is preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
  • Certification in project controls or management (e.g., CCP, PMP) is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Strong understanding of project control principles, including cost and schedule management.
  • Knowledge of earned value management (EVM) and other performance measurement techniques.
  • Familiarity with construction or utility industry standards and practices.
  • Proficient in project management and financial analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Capable of interpreting complex data and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements

Working Conditions - Mental Demands / Physical Demands / Environmental Factors
  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computers, peripherals, and telecommunication devices.
  • Posture: Primarily sitting, with occasional standing and walking. Ergonomic setup is encouraged to reduce strain.
  • Motion: Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and handling office equipment.
  • Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds), such as laptops and documents.
  • Environment: Primarily indoor, climate-controlled office environment. For remote or hybrid roles, maintaining a suitable home office environment is expected.
  • Mental Demands: Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and responsibilities simultaneously, often in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain composure and productivity under pressure. High levels of concentration and attention to detail are required.
