Job summary

Gilbane Federal seeks a Project Controller to lead all financial administration on megaprojects, ensuring adherence to Gilbane policies and timely reporting. This role supports multiple large projects with regular travel to Federal sites.

You will oversee forecasting, risk analysis, and close processes, leveraging FAR knowledge and industry experience to mitigate financial risk. Massachusetts-based with nationwide travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience project accounting on commercial and/or Federal construction projects valued at $100M or larger.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Close attention to detail.
• Knowledge of FAR and construction accounting preferred.
• Experience with Procore, LCPTracker, Textura and CMiC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trains and supports project teams in all project accounting procedures.
• Supervises and trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks; manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards.
• Ensures accuracy and completion of project forecast.
• Assists in the financial closing process including development of risk and opportunity analysis.
• Works and acts as an Independent Accountant during project forecast meetings to mitigate financial risk.
• Evaluates change management for inconsistencies and risk impacts on projects.
• Monitors key indicators for managing and analyzing risk projects while keeping Accounting Manager and/or Business Controller informed on any noted concerns.
• Assists the Accounting Manager or Business Controller with monthly Work in Process (WIP).
• Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members.
• Travel to project sites at least quarterly.
• Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports.
• Other ad-hoc support as needed.

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For (Massachusetts) this ranges from $111,000-$169,800 plus benefits and retirement program.
