Job summary

The Fountain Group in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Project Control Specialist to lead project controls on strategic construction projects. Responsibilities include scheduling, cost forecasting, accruals, and contract oversight, with heavy interfacing to project and corporate teams.

The role is 100% onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA on a 1-year contract with possible extension or conversion. Per diem is provided and aligns with experienced professionals in this field.

Responsibilities

• Implement and execute project controls on strategic construction projects.
• Manage scheduling and cost functions from development through close-out.
• Measure progress, analyse schedules, forecast costs, manage accruals and cash flow.
• Interface with project and corporate teams on execution and contracts.
• Act as lead SME on project controls and contractual compliance.
• Provide training on contractual scheduling to users.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project estimates and forecasts; reflect risks and changes.
• Perform monthly accruals and journal entries.
• Conduct detailed schedule reviews to ensure correct dates.

Job description

The Fountain Group iscurrently seeking a Project Control Specialist for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay Range: $54 - 94/hr depending on experience and education

Contract: 1 year with possible extension and/or conversion

100% onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA. Per diem will be provided

Job Description:

• Responsible for the implementation and execution of project controls related work on strategic construction projects.
• Responsible for the scheduling and cost functions of the project from the development phase through to final project close-out. This includes, but is not limited to, project progress measurement, schedule analysis, cost forecasting, accruals, invoice reviews, preparation and input of updated cash flow forecasts, and for contract oversight and administration as needed.
• Interfaces with Project and Corporate teams on all items related to the execution of the project and/or program.
• Acts as the lead resource (subject matter expert) on all project controls related items, including compliance with project specific contractual/commercial terms.
• Provides training to company and partner users as necessary to support the effective implementation of contractual scheduling.
• Prepares and maintains a detailed project estimate and ongoing forecast. Ensures the forecast reflects current assessed risks, pending change orders, and contingency. Ensures the corporate outlook models are accurately updated to reflect the current forecast. Monitors and provides early identification and communication of cost performance related to approved amounts from internal and external entities. Interfaces and coordinates with corporate accounting and finance to ensure proper project accounting and forecasting.
• Performs monthly accruals and contributions to journal entries.
• Performs detailed schedule reviews and analysis to monitor compliance with contractual dates and to validate progress is accurately reflected and reported.
