Job summary

Capital Program Management Inc. is seeking seasoned Project/Construction Managers to join our Redwood City office serving public works clients in San Mateo County.

You will oversee modernization and new construction projects, managing planning, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and contractor relations to deliver on time and on budget. You will coordinate with agencies, monitor progress, review submittals and RFIs, and ensure design standards are met.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting modernization and new construction of public works projects.
  • Familiarity with facility and design standards is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with public contract code, building codes, and other regulatory requirements.
  • The individual will understand project delivery, time management and how to deal with unanticipated events and unforeseen conditions.
  • State (DSA, CDE, OPSC, and CEC) and local agency experience, strongly preferred.
  • Degree in Construction Management, or PMP or CMAA certificate in process is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required; frequent travel to job sites and/or client meetings will be necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manages project budget and schedule to meet owner expectations.

  • Leads project team and contractors to meet design and cost requirements.
  • Reviews submittals, RFIs, and CCDs to ensure design standards are followed.
  • Uses Excel, MS Project, and Bluebeam to input and review data.
  • May require travel to job sites or operate from a job-site trailer.

Job Description:

Capital Program Management (CPM) seeks seasoned Project/Construction Managers to work with our public works clients in San Mateo County based out of our Redwood City office. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing full-cycle modernization and new construction projects; planning, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration and contractor management, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and on budget.

Responsibilities include:
  • Manages, oversees and coordinates all phases of a public works facility project including pre-construction, mobilization, construction and closeout.
  • Plans, organizes, directs and reports project management activities and progress to upper management.
  • Coordinates with all pertinent public agencies during construction to comply with all off-site work.
  • Manages project budget and schedule to meet the Owner’s expectations.
  • Performs day-to-day contract administration.
  • Manages and coordinates project team and contractors in communicating directives and ensuring the project scope is built according to plans, specifications and cost limits.
  • Reviews submittals, RFI’s and CCD’s to ensure design standards are followed.
  • Works with IOR to monitor the quality of work and review IRO’s logs.
  • Operate a computer and assigned software to input and review data: Excel, MS Project, Bluebeam.
  • Drive a personal vehicle to conduct work and visit sites. Depending on the project, work from a job site trailer may be occasional or frequent.
