Job description

About Us

Empact Technologies is a fast-growing AI-native compliance and risk management platform serving the energy and infrastructure sectors. We help clean energy developers and infrastructure builders unlock billions in IRA tax credits and other federal/state incentives by automating complex labor compliance workflows like prevailing wage, apprenticeship tracking, and Davis-Bacon reporting.

Empact is expanding beyond clean energy into broader infrastructure risk and compliance markets, including data center development, public works, and supply chain risk management. We are on a hyper-growth trajectory with ambitious goals: growing from startup to $12M+ in 2025, $25M+ in 2026, and positioning for a $100M+ acquisition or recap within the next few years.

The Role

Empact Technologies is seeking a qualified Project Compliance Specialist to join our fast-growing Compliance team in a dynamic startup setting, emphasizing innovation, flexibility, and teamwork.

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about learning, possess strong interpersonal skills, and are committed to fostering our company's growth and success. We value individuals who are adaptable and creative that can thrive in this fast-paced environment.

As a Project Compliance Specialist, you will work directly with our internal Project Compliance team to ensure projects are in compliance with applicable requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage weekly EPC and subcontractor payroll data review for accuracy, reporting and creation of weekly reports.
  • Evaluate projects for prevailing wage & apprenticeship compliance, then work with the Project Compliance Manager and Contractors to rectify any identified issues
  • Monitor and assess project activities to identify potential compliance risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Assist in pre-qualifying projects and review required data and documentation for tax incentive adders such as Energy Community and Low-Income Community
What We’re Looking For

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in compliance management, including auditing WH347/CPRs or a similar role in the construction industry.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, highly analytical, high level of accuracy and extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage effectively in video meetings
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel including creating pivots tables and executing VLOOKUP functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a project assistant, coordinator, analyst, administrator or similar.
