Job summary

Jobtailor in Wisconsin is seeking a procurement specialist to plan and drive project execution across engineering and assembly teams. You will lead technical part procurement for Valmet projects, assess feasibility from drawings, and manage supplier bids to meet budget and schedule.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing, strong sourcing, and ERP experience, with emphasis on CNC and conventional machining. On-site role with coordination across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage and plan project execution with the project manager, engineering team, and assembly partner.
  • Lead and coordinate procurement of technical parts for Valmet projects.
  • Perform operational and strategic purchasing tasks.
  • Ensure efficient sourcing of technical components for paper machine projects.
  • Analyze technical drawings and assess feasibility and delivery timelines.
  • Select subcontractors and invite them to bid.
  • Purchase project components within budgets, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Follow up with engineering, manufacturing, and mechanical assembly teams.
  • Contact suppliers to ensure delivery deadlines are met.
  • Address issues and non-conformities, take corrective actions, and complete non-conformance reports.
  • Manage supplier selection, bidding, analysis, purchasing, follow-up, and expediting.
  • Support project manager and engineering during equipment manufacturing and workshop assembly.
  • Assist with workshop assembly activities and testing.
  • Provide technical support to suppliers.
  • Monitor project progress until shipment.
  • Develop and evaluate the subcontractor network.
  • Maintain the supplier list.
  • Obtain required quality documents from suppliers.
  • Create, modify, and verify material lists in the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with engineering and advise on mechanical design when needed.
  • Procure industrial parts and participate in various projects.

Requirements
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or other relevant training
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of procurement and logistics
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of CNC and conventional machining
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
