Illusions Unlimited Productions is seeking a Project-Based Scene Shop Technician to assist with fabrication, construction, finishing, and installation of scenic elements, props, displays, and specialty environments. You will work under the Lead Designer and Shop Lead, following drawings, directions, and schedules.

The role involves carpentry, painting, finishing, and general fabrication using wood, foam, plastics, fabrics, and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and construct scenic elements, props, displays, and structures.
• Follow drawings, renderings, measurements, and verbal direction.
• Perform carpentry, assembly, painting, scenic finishing, and general fabrication.
• Work with wood, plywood, foam, plastics, fabrics, hardware, paint, adhesives, and other materials.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Assist with modifications, repairs, problem-solving, and project adjustments.
• Prepare pieces for transport, installation, and event use.
• Assist with loading, unloading, setup, installation, strike, and storage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate questions, challenges, and material needs to the Lead Designer or Shop Lead.
• Complete assigned work within project schedules and deadlines.

based on the needs of each project.
