Job summary

CCRC Child Care Resource Center is seeking a licensed mental health professional to support families and children from a community setting. The role includes direct services to enrolled recipients, family-centered consultation, and community referrals in a full-time office-based environment.

The position requires a Master’s or Doctoral degree in psychology or social work, license eligibility in California, and bilingual English/Spanish communication.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Within a team environment, this position will perform the following responsibilities:

Job Specifications Minimum Required
  • Education: Master’s or Doctoral Degree in psychology, social work, or related and license-eligible in the State of California through the BBS or BOP; Experience: Minimum of 1 year of direct experience providing therapy to adults, couples, families and children in a clinic-based or private practice setting. Experience gained during practicum training will be considered. Minimum of 1 year of experience, working with children birth to five and their families in any capacity (teaching, mental health, school, center, day care, etc.). Knowledge of trauma informed care, ACEs/PEARLs, mental health and developmental issues with children 0-5 years.
  • Professional/Technical Certifications: Must be license-eligible in the State of CA (AMFT, ACSW) – and registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS ); must maintain current CA BBS registration in good standing for the duration of employment. Maintain First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Bilingual Required: Ability to converse, write and/or translate in English and Spanish
Travel

Staff may choose any mode of transportation (driving, walking, bicycling, carpooling, etc), to arrive to and depart from the location where attendance is required. Should a staff member choose to drive, the staff member must become an approved driver with CCRC prior to driving on behalf of CCRC. Approved drivers driving on behalf of CCRC may choose to drive a CCRC vehicle or own vehicle and must meet requirements to be an approved driver including holding and maintaining current auto insurance, current California Driver’s License and receiving DMV clearance.

Work Schedule

Full time, typically M-F, ability to at times work a non-traditional work schedule including early mornings, late evenings and weekends.

Mixture of working in an office work environment and working directly with the community; field-based

Background & Health Clearance Requirements

Bridge & FWB Background check required. As a grant-funded Agency supporting Children and Family Services, CCRC conducts background checks commensurate with the role to verify candidate qualifications (criminal history, employment history / experience, education, reference checks) and ensure grant compliance. Specific roles may have additional verification / clearance to the standard background check as part of the recruitment and selection process, including:

  • Live Scan Clearance / DOJ Fingerprinting: For positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting (CA Health and Safety Code Section 1596.871 and/or Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.90).
  • Health Clearance: For positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting or working with “at risk” populations, CA Code of Regulations Title 22, §101216, CA Health and Safety Code 1596.7995, and/or Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.93)
  • MVR / DMV clearance in accordance with CCRC’s liability insurance provisions: For positions where driving is required.
  • Child Development Permit: For positions working in an educational capacity (California Education Code Sections 44242.5, 44340, and 44341)CPR / Pediatric CPR certification: For certain identified positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting (CA Health & Safety Code 1596.865 – 1596.866)
  • Federal Debarment Checks: For positions acting in a principal capacity to federal funds (Head Start Program Performance Standards 1304.11, Code of Federal Regulations Title 2 Grants and Agreements 2.180.320 and 2.180.995)

We have doubled in size over the past 10 years. We provide child development and early education, workforce development opportunities, child care financial assistance, Head Start preschool and Early Head Start services and more for close to 50,000 parents, children, and child care providers each month in Northern Los Angeles County, including Antelope Valley, and the entirety of San Bernardino County, including an office in Victorville, serving a total geographic area of 22,500 square miles.

Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) assists close to 50,000 parents, children, and child care providers each month in Northern Los Angeles County, and the entirety of San Bernardino County serving a total area of 22,500 square miles.

Since 1976, CCRC has been managing programs to assist with issues such as finding and selecting child care, child care financial assistance, school readiness, home visiting, and research and program evaluation. Children and families benefit from these programs, allowing parents to go to work and attend school, contribute to the economy and strengthen their families and the community.

CCRC's early care & education specialists offer parents and child care professionals assistance ranging from finding child care and child development ages & stages to marketing child care businesses and CPR training and certification. CCRC operates and oversees Head Start Birth-5 programs for a total of 3,312 children. These programs promote school readiness and family engagement to ensure a healthy development of children and their families. Children benefit from a high quality preschool education as well as medical and dental exams. Through CCRC’s literacy campaign “What a Difference a Book Makes,” we have collected 800,000 age-appropriate books. It is the agency’s belief that the cognitive benefits of literacy are immeasurable and have a large impact on the ability of an economy to generate and sustain wealth.
