Job summary

Gensler in Chicago is seeking a Project Architect to collaborate with Practice Area Leaders and Design Directors to develop design solutions and coordinate the project through construction documentation.

You will translate sketches into 2D/3D models, mentor team members, manage client and consultant coordination, ensure code compliance, and contribute to a compensation package including base salary, annual bonuses, ESOP, and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 8+ years of experience in a commercial design firm.
• Licensed or registered architect.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3dMax, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and MS Office.
• Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures.
• LEED accreditation preferred.

What You Will Do

• Manage client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, civil consultants etc.
• Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
• Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges
• Maintain project manual and specifications
• Conduct and document site visits, process submittals, substitution requests, and RFI’s during construction

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
• 8+ years of experience in a commercial design firm
• Licensed or registered architect
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3dMax, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and MS Office.
• Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
• LEED accreditation preferred

**The base salary range will be estimated between $95,000 - $120,000. Gensler’s total compensation package is multi-layered and includes a base salary, two annual bonuses paid in December and June, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and profit sharing.
