Ario Studio seeks a project architect to lead both commercial and residential projects in a hands-on, in-person setting in Travelers Rest, SC. You will manage schematic design through construction administration, collaborating with clients, consultants, and contractors to maintain design intent and craft quality documentation.

You will mentor junior staff, develop 3D models, and produce detailed drawings while ensuring accurate coordination across disciplines.

Competenze

• Master's degree in architecture or equivalent experience.
• Licensed Architect in SC preferred; multi-state licensure a plus.
• Experience across schematic design to construction administration.

We are seeking a project architect to join our team. The ideal candidate is described below. This is an in-person position at Ario Studio's office in downtown Travelers Rest, SC.

You could be a good fit for this position if:

• You love contemporary design but also appreciate traditional design.

• You enjoy working on construction plans and details and take pride in the craft of technical documentation.
• You're detail-oriented yet big-picture driven. You can move fluidly between concept development and technical coordination, always keeping the overall design vision intact.
• You thrive in a design-driven studio, welcome critique, and are motivated by making work that’s genuinely exceptional - not just 'good enough'.
• You are a strong communicator, comfortable working directly with clients, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• You have a strong sense of ownership over your work and take pride in seeing projects through from start to finish.

This role is not for someone who:

• Wants to work on architecture independent of interiors
• Doesn't enjoy project management or client-facing responsibilities
• Is satisfied repeating solutions that 'worked on the last project'
• Isn't genuinely excited by both residential and commercial work

In this position, you can expect to:

• Work on both commercial and residential architecture projects (20% commercial and 80% residential)
• Work directly with, and coordinate between, clients, vendors, consultants, engineers, and contractors.
• Lead and manage projects from schematic design through construction administration.
• Create detailed construction drawings, including floor plans, RCPs, electrical plans, section details, construction details, roof plans, interior elevations, and more.
• Develop 3D models and 2D construction sets.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Perform quality control and document reviews.
• Create image and video renderings for projects.
• Visit properties and work sites.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in architecture (commercial and/or residential)
• Master's degree in architecture (or Bachelor's with extensive experience)
• Registered Architect in the State of South Carolina (preferred). Registration in additional states is even better.
• Experience on projects spanning multiple phases, from schematic design through construction administration

• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently
• Construction administration and/or project management experience

• Strong sense of ownership over assignments
• Proficient in: SketchUp, Revit, Twinmotion or Lumion, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite
