Job summary

IA Interior Architects in Charlotte, NC seeks a Project Architect or Senior Project Architect for the Charlotte Studio. The role requires NC licensure to sign/stamp and 8+ years of corporate workplace interior design experience.

You will create CDs, review them for standards and codes, coordinate with engineers, manage contracts and budgets, and mentor junior designers while maintaining client contact to determine technical requirements for the design.

Qualifications

• Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• Must be a Licensed Architect in North Carolina to sign/stamp.
• 8+ years’ experience in corporate workplace interior design projects.

Responsibilities

• Create contract documents (CDs) for interior architecture projects.
• Review CDs for compliance with firm standards, codes and ADA requirements.
• Oversee CD production and review on smaller projects.
• Coordinate with senior technical staff and design staff on technical solutions.
• Manage projects through the contract administration phase and budgets.
• Coordinate engineering consultants to meet design solutions and deadlines.
• Mentor junior/intermediate designers and provide feedback on work products.
• Conduct client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design.

This position requires that you be licensed in North Carolina.

Responsibilities Include:

• Create contract documents (CDs)
• Review CDs to ensure compliance with firm standards, mechanical, building systems, codes and ADA requirements
• For smaller projects, may oversee all CD production and review
• Coordinates with Senior technical staff and design staff to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas
• Manages project through contract administration phase
• Coordinates engineering consultant’s work to ensure compliance with design solution and timely submission of documents
• May be required to assist with support for field surveys
• Manages contract administration budget for assigned projects
• Ensures adherence to set budget
• Provides Technical leadership, mentors the work of Junior and Intermediate Designers
• Oversees tasks and provides feedback on work product
• Client-facing - Conducts client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design
