Job summary

Advastar, Inc. in Kansas City is seeking a Project Architect/Project Manager to lead commercial, multifamily, and hospitality projects from concept through construction.

This hands-on role requires managing several active projects, mentoring junior staff, and interfacing directly with clients and contractors. You will produce construction documents in Revit/AutoCAD and drive coordination across teams, with a hybrid schedule after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program.
• 7–15 years of relevant architecture and project experience.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD; familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Carry multiple active projects at once with shifting priorities.
• Lead projects across commercial office/tenant improvement, multifamily, and hospitality from programming through closeout.
• Produce and coordinate construction documents in Revit and/or AutoCAD.

A growing, design-driven architecture and design firm in the Kansas City metro is hiring a Project Architect / Project Manager to lead commercial, multifamily, and hospitality projects from concept through construction. This is a hands-on seat on a small, nimble team where you carry several active projects at once, work directly with clients and contractors, and mentor younger designers and architects. For an architect who wants real ownership, variety across project types, and a direct line to firm leadership, this role offers visible impact and room to grow.

• Anticipated $75K–$100K, based on experience

• In-office during onboarding, with a flexible hybrid schedule (1–2 remote days/week) once ramped

Overview

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Strongly Preferred — proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and shift priorities quickly
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD; familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
• Strong construction documentation skills and technical acumen
• Working knowledge of building codes and accessibility requirements
• Experience with construction administration, including contractor coordination, submittals, and RFIs
• Multifamily project experience preferred; workplace/office TI and hospitality experience valued
• Strong client and consultant relationship management skills
• Effective communicator who collaborates well across teams
• Interest in developing client relationships and identifying new business a plus
