GastingerWalker is seeking a Project Architect / Project Manager in a hybrid, Kansas City–based environment. You will lead architectural projects from concept through construction, coordinating with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

With 7+ years of experience and a strong background in building systems, you will manage schedules, budgets, and documents while mentoring junior staff in a collaborative design-focused studio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • 7+ years of professional architecture experience and team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, construction docs, and delivery.
  • Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Revit and industry-standard software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

We are seeking a Project Architect / Project Manager who is ready to take ownership of projects, build strong client relationships, and contribute to a dynamic and growing design practice.

Position Overview

As a Project Architect / Project Manager, you will play a key role in leading projects from concept through construction. Working closely with clients, consultants, and internal project teams, you will be responsible for coordinating design and technical efforts, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, remain actively engaged in the design process, mentor emerging professionals, and continue growing your leadership skills within a collaborative and design-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate architectural projects through all phases of design and construction.

Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and translate them into thoughtful, effective design solutions.

Maintain active involvement in project design while balancing technical, budget, and schedule requirements.

Develop and oversee project schedules, budgets, and work plans to ensure successful project delivery.

Coordinate with engineering consultants, contractors, and internal team members throughout the project lifecycle.

Prepare and review design and construction documents for quality, accuracy, and consistency.

Facilitate project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve challenges.

Support and mentor emerging professionals, providing guidance and sharing technical knowledge.

Contribute to a positive, collaborative studio culture that values design excellence and teamwork.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.

7+ years of professional experience in architecture, with demonstrated experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Strong understanding of building systems, construction documentation, and project delivery processes.

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Revit and other industry-standard software.
