Job summary

IA Interior Architects in Charlotte seeks a Project Architect or Senior Project Architect to join the Charlotte Studio. The role requires NC licensure to sign and stamp drawings and at least 8 years of corporate workplace interior design experience.

The candidate will create and review contract documents, coordinate with design and engineering teams, and lead projects through contract administration while mentoring junior staff and maintaining budgets.

Qualifications

• Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• Must be licensed architect in North Carolina to sign/stamp.
• Minimum 8+ years in corporate workplace interior design projects.

Responsibilities

• Create contract documents (CDs).
• Review CDs for compliance with codes, ADA, firm standards.
• For smaller projects, oversee all CD production and review.
• Coordinate with senior staff to provide technical solutions.
• Manage project through contract administration phase.
• Coordinate engineering consultant work for compliance and submissions.
• Assist with field surveys as needed.
• Manage contract administration budget and ensure adherence.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior designers.
• Oversee tasks and give feedback on work product.
• Client-facing: conduct interviews to determine technical requirements.

This position requires that you be licensed in North Carolina.

Responsibilities Include:

• Create contract documents (CDs)
• Review CDs to ensure compliance with firm standards, mechanical, building systems, codes and ADA requirements
• For smaller projects, may oversee all CD production and review
• Coordinates with Senior technical staff and design staff to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas
• Manages project through contract administration phase
• Coordinates engineering consultant’s work to ensure compliance with design solution and timely submission of documents
• May be required to assist with support for field surveys
• Manages contract administration budget for assigned projects
• Ensures adherence to set budget
• Provides Technical leadership, mentors the work of Junior and Intermediate Designers
• Oversees tasks and provides feedback on work product
• Client-facing - Conducts client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design
